Was looking frantically for the name of an adnexal skin tumour, ill defined edge, basaloid, however the cells appear slightly bigger than the typical basal cell carcinoma. And the peripheral nuclear palisading is not conspicuous, with few hints that the tumour forms abortive hair follicle.
Is it basal cell carcinoma? (slight bigger, paler compared to conventional bcc)
Is it trichoepithelioma? (this one had frequent mitoses)
Is it trichoepithelial carcinoma? (hmmm...)
Is it trichoblastic carcinoma? (blastic sounds ok, because it sounds as if the cells are large. Boleh fit in!)
Then I read again. The other name for trichoblastic carcinoma is basal cell carcinoma.
Plus, I add the follicular differentiation.
Haaa...dapat dah!
Basal cell carcinoma with follicular diffferentiation.
Moral of the story: Not all BCC the same. They have variants.
